The Questions and Answers Page.

If you are thinking of learning to fly, Please remember to take your time when choosing a school, (we are not all the same).

Talk to the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) and ask some questions, such as:

The Question = (Q) Peak Airsports Answer= (P.A)

Q. Is the School a BHPA registered school?

(P.A) Answer is: Absolutely (YES:-)! BHPA School Number (337). Would you trust someone to work on your car brakes or do the M.O.T on your car without any recognized qualification?

Q. Is the school a 'full time school'?

(P.A) Answer is: (YES:-) 7 days a week (weather permitting).

Q. Are the instructors 'under training' (Ti's)?

(P.A) Answer is: (NO:-). Mark Bosher is (CFI) and has the highest qualification in the BHPA and is one of the most qualified and experienced instructors in the UK. He is the sole owner of Peak Airsports. Mark is the person who teaches you from day one, from absolute beginner to Advanced Pilot (AP) level.

Q. What is the normal number of students on courses on any given day?

(P.A) Answer is: Sometimes 1 to 1 and up to 3 to 1 ratio (normally:-).

Q. Does the school use modern or new equipment for training?

(P.A) Answer is: (YES:-). All the schools equipment, (wings, harnesses and helmets) are new or almost new. They are inspected and certified for use, are top quality and regarded as the best in the business, (your life may depends on this?!).

Q. Is there a time limit to finish your training course and do you have a limited number of days training on each course?

(P.A) Answer is: (No:-) We understand that sometimes life does have more important things to do, (other than learning to fly). If the student takes a little longer than most, (within reason) we will not turn our back on them or charge for 'extra days training'. Peak Airsports students are real people, not a number. Long after the school has done it's job, I still fly with and help friends I trained several years ago. I believe all my current and past students would be happy to chat to a prospective student, if asked. Peak Airsports has nothing to hide:-).

Q. Do Students need to complete, (and pay for) 'extra training' such as 'a Hill Conversion Course' once they achieved the 'Club Pilot Novice' rating?

P.A Answer is: (NO:-). You are trained on the hill from day one and you will continue to learn how to fly the hill until your Club Pilot Course is completed. You can then join your local club in your area and fly when you want (weather permitting). But you never stop learning in this sport and your next personal goal might be to work towards your 'Pilot Rating', (P) and may be you might want to go cross country and so on, (if you wish??:-).

Q. Does the school use a Tandem wing to aid in the progress of the training (if needed) and is this normally Free of charge?

(P.A) Answer is: (YES:-) Mark has used the Tandem on many occasions to aid training and demonstrate a training task or objective. He has also taught Pilots, to become 'Tandem Rated or Dual Pilots' too:-)

Any other questions??? Please feel free to give Mark a call.

Please remember, you always get what you pay for in life and the cheapest is seldom the best:-(.
